When doing some major refurnishing in the house, one should always remember to give proper attention to the kitchen as well. Designing your kitchen is as equally important as designing your living room or your front yard since, even though not everyone can see it, this is basically where your food are being cooked, stored, and served. The fact that you give special attention to this part of the house also speaks well on your capabilities to feed your family and friends. One should always think that people would give high regards on the cooking if they also see the kitchen well designed and cleaned.
When designing your kitchen, just make sure that you place the burner in a well ventilated space so as to avoid any possible accidents in the house. Every cooking ware should also be well placed for convenience when cooking your meal. Everything should be within reach, especially the ones that you frequently use. Also make sure that the lights are properly installed and the room is bright enough to see every corners of the places so it would be easier to clean up.. It wouldn’t hurt if you also put some displays in there like paintings and plants and make sure that your kitchen counters are in bright color so you would know if it is dirty or not.
Here’s one kitchen design that I really like:

Everywhere in the world, no matter what race, form of government, country or color, people are always encouraged to recycle things. Sometimes, city laws even require offices and establishments to have three separate trash bins to keep the biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable materials from mixing up with each other. If we look at it, there are actually tons of possibilities that we can produce in recycled materials. It can range from creating a new material out of old ones like paper, to reusing things such as plastic bottles, cups and other reusable materials.
Believe it or not, we can actually use there are actually recycled materials used in interior design! a door made of recycled copper set in wood frames were actually, already made and is now being used in some buildings. Barn doors are also good for interior design as it can give unique effect. Plastic bottles can actually be turned in to beautiful figurines or plastic bonsais. They are good for displays and pf course, cheaper. the best thing about using recycled materials for interior designing is that you get all the liberty in the world to use your imagination. Everything is actually possible, just make sure to know the right idea when making use of recycled materials.
Changing the colors inside the house is a challenging thing. Blending colors in your home is practically like blending colors in a painting. You have to know what you want to see after all the mixing and thinking. But unlike painting where you are allowed to make mistakes, you are not allowed to make mistakes in your house because it will cause you more money.

When trying to find the right combinations for your house, make sure that you consider everything. As Dr Dave and Dr Dee have said in their website, try using the 60-30-10 rule where one color should cover 60% of the room such as walls, 30% for secondary colors which can be used in furniture upholstery, and the other 10% for accent colors. Try also using a color scheme for the room. Complementary colors are great to use when painting a room. Make use of the color wheel and check what colors compliment each other. If you are living in an old house, try to recreate the original color. If you think it’s not that good, try interchanging the colors using the 60-30-10 rule. It should give you good results and make it even more attractive.
Home improvement and interior designing are two things that can either make you or break you. Those two are the things that are seemingly easy to do, but becomes harder when you start doing it. People have the tendency to be fond of doing things themselves due to various reasons. First is trust. They don’t like other people getting in to their houses, tinkering with their stuff. They don’t like the idea, plus the fact that they are anxious that the person doing the tinkering may not even be capable of handling the job. Second is to save money since we have to admit, hiring professionals can be very expensive at times, especially for the handymen and interior designers.
It is a good thing though that for those kinds of people, media is always there to assist them. Interior design shows and home improvement shows on TV are always available for them so at least, even without hiring those expensive professionals, they can do the work themselves! Not only on TV, but also on other medium like newspapers, books, radios, and of course, internet. Although the negative thing that I see in this scenario is for the person to become an impulse fixer. That even if the things in the house doesn’t really need fixings, but since he or she was able to watch it, he or she would do it anyway, thinking that everything would be fine, but ends up hiring a professional anyway because they made it worse.

Fixtures for a Comfy Home
Buying furniture for your home can be both fun and agonizing at the same time… Of course, it would be fun if you have all the money in the world to spend because you can basically choose just about every item in the stores without worrying of having insufficient funds. But of course, that would be a little impossible for most people. Some would always have limited resources, and with this, one has to make sure that he or she already has an idea on what to buy to avoid impulse buying.

It would be also easier if you list down all the things that you need to buy, before actually going to the store. Chat down every single detail, and if possible, try doing window shopping beforehand so you would already know what you really want, and you could make some plans on your budget. Remember that furniture, most of the time, are expensive so you have to be sure that you are buying the right one for your home. Try to also get the size and measurements of your house or at least the room that you’re planning to refurnish so by the time that you’re already in the marketplace, you have a guide on what is suitable for your place.

Buying appliances for your home can be trickier that it seems to be. We always find that out the hard way in our own house. Sometimes, it would seem that we need something, but end up not really needing it at all. There are also times where everything seems to be well-planned and organized, then we’ll find out that we actually don’t have enough space in the house for the appliance that we already bought.
Those are just some frustrations that I know other people have also experienced, so when buying appliances for the house, make sure that you really need the thing before buying it. You may be thinking that you need the contraption because it can make your life easier, but you’ll find out afterwards that there are actually better substitutes in the house that you can use. Also consider spacing in the house. It’s not enough that you know what you’ll be buying, you also have to know if your place is capable of containing the appliance that you bought. If you really want something but your place can’t handle it, try doing some basic renovation first. If that fail, try looking for substitutes. Who knows, maybe there’s something better that you failed to see because you’re overly fixated with the item that you want to buy.
Being able to buy a lot of stuff in your own house can give you a good and satisfied feeling for yourself since they can be considered as rewards for yourself for working really hard to earn them. But sometimes, even though you are capable of buying those things, your own house is the one keeping you from buying them, since space is sometimes limited.
How to save or maximize space in your own home can be tricky, yet possible. You just have to make sure that you look at those extra spaces that most people oversee. One of them are the staircases… Most homes, old and new, have enclosed staircases. One has to remember that all you need for a staircase is a good base. The extra space underneath it can always be used as closets or shelf spaces. In bathrooms, it will be a good idea to hang wicker baskets on the walls for extra storage. You can put towels, soaps, tissues and other toiletries. Also consider putting hooks at the back of the bathroom door instead of hanging bars. It can save you more space since it will be just like a dot on your door. In the bedroom, if possible, take advantage of the headboards and convert them in to a storage unit. You can out a lot of things in there, just use your imagination. In the kitchen, make sure that the space between you counters, refrigerator, and the sink is just right. Remember that shorter distance can make you feel strangled, while longer spaces can make you exert more energy. Make sure that everything is just right.
